God Will Help

Sunday sermon on 12 Dec 2021 by Pastor Rajesh Mathew

1 Kings 18:40-46- 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, 43 and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So, he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” 44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, [a]‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’ ” 45 Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So, Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel. 46 Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded[b] up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Psalm 119:173- Let Your hand become my help, For I have chosen Your precepts.

The psalmist is praying, ‘Let thine hand help me’. The Lord will help you. The Lord our God will help you. His Name is Jesus. “Most certainly You will help me Lord,” declare that! • Elijah was a man of prayer. This morning God told me just this- God will help you. • Do you pray, worship and decide to walk according to His Word? If yes, He will help you from this morning.
Elijah had prayed on the mountain for fire and the fire came down and now he was praying for rain and rain came down too! If you pray and not get tired of praying, you will see the rain of His blessing. You will receive the answer to your prayers. You have seen the fire in answer to your prayers in the past, continue praying and you will see the rain of His presence coming upon your life.

Mathew 21:13-13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’

This is a House of prayer. You have made it a den of thieves and robbers. If you don't pray, thieves and robbers will have access to your lives. In your family life, in your business, health and spiritual lives you are seeing some thieves because you haven't prayed. This is a house of prayer and when you don’t pray, you will be robbed.

Bankruptcy of prayer causes satanic robbery.

That's why David says, “I will pray in the morning, afternoon and in the evening”. The New testament says, pray without ceasing and pray at all times!
Elijah who prayed had an expectancy within him. He tells his servant, go down and see, there will be a cloud. Are you expectant in your life? Are you seeing a tiny hand sized cloud over your life? If not, you need to pray. Many people pray but have no expectancy. Are you seeing something? May your spiritual eyes be opened to see.

God sent help upon those who prayed. GODs hand came UPON Elijah! When His Hand came upon him, He ran ahead of the chariots of Ahab.

Next year will be a year of catching up! God will help you like that. You will emerge forward from behind. The financial losses, disease related losses, spiritual losses will be recovered. You will not only catch up but you will overtake. Those who have suffered losses in business due to COVID, you will catch up next year!

Elijah operated at an extra human level. Nobody has raced with horses. We have heard of people running with dogs or being chased by dogs but running with horses is rare!

Overtaking horses is not human. It is supernatural. Upon him who prays, God will send this Supernatural speed.

It's not your ability, not the resources you have in your hands but apart from all that, it is the supernatural help of God and the Hand of God. God will send his hand upon me.

You will be able to cover lost ground. Supernatural speed means you are able to cover ground, accomplish things beyond your ability or resources or strength in a short time with great speed.

LET'S LOOK AT TWO PEOPLE UPON WHOM GOD’S HAND CAME:

EZRA

Ezra 7:6- 6 this Ezra came up from Babylon; and he was a skilled scribe in the Law of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel had given. The king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the Lord his God upon him.

You will not lack help of God’s hand comes upon you. The king helped Ezra. So, what happened because of that?
We see in the Bible that God used two people. One to build the temple and another to build the walls of the Jerusalem. Nehemiah built the walls around Jerusalem when God’s hand came upon him. The wall was lying in ruins for years! It was around mountains and it was a very difficult task. There were many enemies to discourage them and pull them down. There were not sufficient workers.

Nehemiah 6:15- 15 So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of Elul, in fifty-two days. • Because God’s Hand came upon him, the work of the wall was completed in 52 days. That si speed! Even the compound walls of a house cannot be rebuilt so fast.

I have seen the walls of Jerusalem. Even chariots can ride on them. No army can cross over. No one can break it down. It was built only in 52 days! You will build your life.

“God will help me. I will build. Our creator made everything in just 6 days. My Jesus will help me.” DAVID

Psalm 89:19-21- Then You spoke in a vision to Your [a]holy one, and said: “I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people. 20 I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him, with whom My hand shall be established; Also, My arm shall strengthen him.

God’s hand was establishedupon David.

God’s Hand was a fixed deposit upon David's life. Nobody could withdraw it.

The Lord has kept this season ahead for the church. His hand will be established upon each one of our lives. He will keep His hand upon me. It will remain upon me. This morning some of you will sense it in your lives. A supernatural hand holding you.
Pray these days that “Lord do not ever take away your hand from me.” It is not just a theological statement but I am talking about actually experiencing this. When you know that the Lord is with you, you can sense His presence. He walks with me, talk with me. His Hand

upon me. Take This word. HIS HAND TO BE UPON You and REMAIN upon me.

When God’s hand came upon David, many blessings came upon him:

He became a shepherd, when God’s hand came upon Him
He was a worshiper and a singer.
He became a song writer- Some people write songs but they don’t sing. Some sing but they won’t worship. Some worship hut they don’t know how to sing.
He became a musician- He began to play instruments. An anointing and an impartation is coming upon the musicians to compose, write songs by the Holy Spirit.
He became a choir director of 4000 people for 40 years. This has to be supernatural. It is not possible otherwise. Without God’s hand coming upon you, you can’t do anything. 6. He was a fighter warrior, giant killer, lion killer, military general, commander in chief, somebody training soldiers who became warriors, a generational leader, a people developer.

David was a people developer. He had all kinds of people with him. The poor, miserable, people with debt. The people who came into the cave were people who were punctured, ruptured, tormented, vexed and troubled but they became mighty people of war and mighty warriors. All those who came to him in the cave were all turned around to be great. David was a people developer.

2 Samuel 23:8 - 8 These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: [a]Josheb-Basshebeth the Tachmonite, chief among [b]the captains. He was called Adino the Eznite, because he had killed eight hundred men at one time.

He developed people. Not just in church but even within homes and families, we need to develop each other up. Some husbands are jealous of their wives; some wives are jealous of husbands, brothers are jealous of each other! Let that yoke be broken off this morning.

David was an inventor.

Amos 6:5- Who sing idly to the sound of stringed instruments, And invent for yourselves musical instruments like David;

I want to make music unto the Lord with all kinds of instruments, David must have thought 8. He was a builder. He built the city of David. You can see it in Jerusalem.
Can one person do all this? Yes, he can when God’s hand comes upon him. • Unusual giftings will flow through you, when God’s hand comes upon you. • In the Old testament when the anointing came down, it came upon prophets, priests and kings. But David was an exception, he also moved under the anointing of prophet.

Acts 2:29-30- 29 “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, [a]according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

When the Hand of God comes upon you, you start to prophecy. Let your tongues change to become a language. May you be able to prophecy.
DAVID was also a priest. But we see in 2 Samuel 6, we see that he offered sacrifices unto God because he was a priest.

Numbers 6:23-24- This is the blessing pronounced by the priest. May you pronounce this blessing upon each other in your homes.

Anointing will change a nobody into a somebody.

9. David was a reference king. Anybody can reference him stating that there was no king greater than David. He was priest and prophet.

When you pray, God’s hand comes upon you, you will become a new person. You will move in the supernatural. New giftings will flow through you. Your levels will shift. Unusual giftings and capabilities will flow through you. The Holy Spirit will reveal things through you.

Go after God for this. When you pray, God will act.

Acts 13:36- 36 “For David, after he had served [a]his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and [b]saw corruption;

He was a monument, a colossal monument, he is the titanic. David served his generation. He is a titanic. If God’s Hand could change a humble shepherd boy into all this, God’s hand can do this for you!
You don’t want your life to be wasted, surrender to Jesus! He will restore unto you the years that the locusts have eaten.

Let your hand be established upon me Lord.

The Hand of God is the help of God.

Psalm 119:173- Let Your hand become my help, For I have chosen Your precepts. • Many people say that they don’t have a Helping Hand. Some women say, I have no help when they don’t have a maid.

You can do much more than you think you can when the helping hand of God comes upon you

I will help you. If God helps you, no devil can destroy you. “I will look unto you Lord, place your Hand and upon me,” Lord

Hand of God is the realm of God’s power.

Habakkuk 3:3-4- God came from Teman, The Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, And the earth was full of His praise. 4 His brightness was like the light; He had rays flashing from His hand, And there His power was hidden.

Hiding in His Hand is His Power.

How God anointing Jesus with Holy Spirit and His power and He went about doing good and healing all those who were tormented by the power of the devil.

There is a motion, action, function in your life when the Hand of God comes upon you.

It will help you overcome every hindrance and opposition. “I will be a person in motion, action and function for the glory of God.”

There is favour when God’s Hand is upon you. That's favour.

Ezra 8: 18- 18 Then, by the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely Sherebiah, with his sons and brothers, eighteen men;

God’s favour will connect you to the right people and give you opportunities.

Divine connections, business connections, family connections, divine friendships will unfold whenGod’s Hand comes upon you. May the Lord’s Hand thrust you to the next stage in your life.

Every vision gains motion by provision. I want a bike, but money needed. I want a big ministry, where is the provision? The provision comes by the hand of God.
Nehemiah 8- When God’s Hand came upon him, God gave him the provision needed for his journey. Scarcity departs from your life when God’s hand comes upon your life.

The vision of the church will accelerate, supernatural provision will flow in the season ahead. God's hand releases the goodwill and comfort of God.

I wish you good is goodwill. God wants me to do well. His Hand wants to do that for me. I will enjoy the goodwill of God. We will do well. God will only make your grow and increase.

The goodwill of God is stronger than the bad will of the devil and of people. Psalm 89: 20-21- I have found My servant David;

With My holy oil I have anointed him,

21With whom My hand shall be established;

Also My arm shall strengthen him.

The enemy shall not [a]outwit him,

Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

23 I will beat down his foes before his face,

And plague those who hate him.

If God’s Hand comes, it is complete victory. God will deliver us.

I was watching a shot on discovery channel. A lion attacks a zebra and catches it by its neck. Another zebra sees this and gives a back kick to the lion and the lion loses its grip on that zebra. It runs away. When one zebra can help another zebra, how much more will God’s Hand help when it comes upon people.

He is our El-shaddai. The Lord our God. My god will help me. I will be delivered out of the hand of the devil. God’s hand will preserve you, protect you and bring you out of every danger.
No matter what the devil throws at you, even if an army comes against you, you will stand. • Envious and jealous people may be amplified around your life but don't be afraid. If God’s hand is upon you, He will give you full victory.
Do not be afraid of the viper if the fire of God is upon you. If God’s fire is upon you, you don’t need to fear the poison of the viper.
In fact, when you progress you will attract enemies. Do not be afraid. God’s hand will preserve you.
In John 10, the Lord says, No one can snatch you out of His hand.

I am safe and secure in the rock of all ages. Bend your knees and pray like Elijah who outran the chariots of Ahab, the worshipper David and the scribe Ezra who meditated on the Word of God. God helping hand will come upon you.

What do you need to do

David was a Man after Gods own heart- His desire was to please God to the maximum. Let me make God happy so he can pat me on my back. David pleased the Lord. Get baptised to please God not men.
Follow the purpose of God with passion. Not being lukewarm. Elijah stood for God before Ahab. The fire came down when he stood for God.
In public represent the Lord and identify yourself with the Lord. Some peoples’ faith is all a secret. There is no public identification with Christ. Many professing Christians do not publicly identify themselves with Christ. They sit on the fence. You don’t know who they are and where they belong.
People who are willing to take risks for Jesus. Elijah took a risk. Nehemiah took a risk. David took a risk. Esther said if I perish, I perish. Baptism, worship, tongues, whatever way it is, represent Christ. Some people don't pray before guests. Publicly identify yourselves with the Lord. They are true worshippers.
