Spirit of Grace

And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication

Zechariah 12:10

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord

Genesis 6:8

From his fullness we have received grace upon grace. When the grace of God came upon Noah, then these things happened:

1. Noah was able to believe that what he had never seen, would happen.
Until then, it hadn’t rained on earth. It was the mist that rose from the earth that moistened the land. However when God’s grace came upon him, Noah realized that what had never happened before would happen – it would rain.

As God opens your spiritual eyes, you will see that which you have only heard and never seen. God has placed no disclaimers in His Word: whatever is written will happen in your life. Claim His promises and believe it will happen.

2. He believed that his family would be saved.
By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Hebrews 11.7

When God’s grace came upon him, Noah was able to believe that his family also shall be saved.

In the church, there are parents praying for their children; children praying for their parents, wives praying for husbands and husbands praying for wives. May God work miracles and open doors. May backsliders be healed and returned to His presence.
Paul said to the jailer at Philippi, that if he believed in the Lord, he and his household shall be saved (Acts 16.31). Declare that your family and generations belong to Jesus, as you claim his grace.

3. He believed what he preached was true.
For 120 years Noah preached that it would rain. But not one person was saved, and people mocked him. But God’s grace was upon him, and he did not turn back from what God had asked him to do. Fix your heart in faith and grace. If God has given you a promise, it will come to pass. Place your hope in the name of Jesus.

4. Noah did what he had never done until.
In fact, Noah did what no one had ever done. He began to build the ark, and there was no one to help him save his family. Noah could’ve questioned God, but he chose to act in complete obedience to God’s commands.
The Apostle Paul declares that it is by God’s grace in him that he did more than anyone. But I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15.10
When God’s grace comes on you, you will be a builder – of relationships, of the church, of the Kingdom. God has a special purpose for your life. He can do through you what no one has done before.

5. Noah built the ark at home.
A fool is defined as one who appears to lack good sense, and acts in a seemingly foolish manner. Doubtless, Noah would have looked foolish building an ark on a mountain.

But then, we are to be fools for Christ’s sake (1 Cor 4.10). We need to do even the ridiculous for the glory of Jesus. This is the believer’s dilemma: will you settle for the mediocre or step out to receive the supernatural, in a foolish way?

Noah built the ark miles away from the sea. But he knew that if you stay where God asks you to, water would come there in due time. If you faithfully stay where you are asked to, your miracle will come looking for you.

6. He sacrificed at the altar
When Noah stepped out of the ark in God’s time, he built an altar. He then offered a sacrifice that pleased God’s heart. You will build an altar to God and offer yourself as a living sacrifice when God’s grace comes upon you.
