Stronger Than the Strong Man

Walking in Freedom and the Divine Financial System

Scripture Reference: Matthew 12:28–29 | Romans 13:8 | Revelation 18:3–4 | Genesis 14:18–23

KEY SCRIPTURES

Matthew 12:28–29 (NKJV)

"But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house."

Romans 13:8 (NKJV)

"Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law."

Revelation 18:3–4 (NKJV)

"For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury. And I heard another voice from heaven saying, 'Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.'"

Genesis 14:18–23 (NKJV)

"Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: 'Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.' And he gave him a tithe of all. Now the king of Sodom said to Abram, 'Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.' But Abram said to the king of Sodom, 'I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, 'I have made Abram rich'—'"

  1. THE HOLY SPIRIT'S COMMISSION: BINDING THE STRONG MAN

The Holy Spirit gave a special commission for this service — a divine assignment for the month of March. The central message, drawn from Matthew 12:28–29, is this: without first binding the strong man, you cannot plunder his house. Just as Jesus declared that He casts out demons by the Spirit of God, so too the church has been given authority to bind every demonic stronghold that holds back God's people.

This is not merely a theological statement — it is a declaration of warfare and victory. Every demonic sphere that holds your joy, your health, your wealth, your family, and your nation is subject to the authority Christ won on Calvary's cross.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: "Today, in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, every demonic force holding your goodness, your health, your wealth, your nation, and your family is being conquered. Today is the day of victory!"

  1. WHAT HOLDS YOU BACK? UNDERSTANDING STRONGHOLDS

There are strong men — demonic forces — that operate in specific domains of life. Pastor Rajesh identified several key areas where these strongholds operate:

  1. Disease and Physical Infirmity

There are certain diseases that stand like strong men, holding on to people's health. They resist healing, resist recovery, and try to wear out the body. But today, in Jesus' name, victory is declared over every such stronghold. The grace of God that renews your youth, God's presence upon you — may it again prevail!

DECLARATION: "In Jesus' name, that strong man holding your health is bound. Let your strength return. Let your health return. The grace of God that renews your youth shall prevail upon you again."

  1. Addiction and Sin Bondage

Addictions — whether to sinful habits, substances, or destructive patterns — are not merely behavioural problems. They are spiritual strongholds. The demonic realm that sustains addiction is real, but it is being bound in Jesus' name through the ministry of the Word, worship, and the power of God's Spirit. The Spirit of God is binding it. God's angels have descended and are binding it.

  1. Fear and Family Bondage

There are family bondages — fears that you cannot explain. You wake up with it. You sleep with it. When you walk, the fear of life grips you: "What will become of me? What will become of my family?" That fear is a demonic strategy. It is important to remember: God has not given you a spirit of fear. Fear is not from God — it is a stronghold, and it must be broken.

  1. OLD TESTAMENT EXAMPLES OF BINDING THE STRONG MAN
  2. Pharaoh – The Strong Man That Held Israel

In the Old Testament, Pharaoh was a strong man. He was holding back the children of Israel, sealing their future, keeping them enslaved in Egypt for 430 years. To prevent them from seeing the promises God gave them, Pharaoh kept them under his control.

But God sent Moses — an 80-year-old man — to confront this powerful ruler. Moses did not face Pharaoh in his own strength, cleverness, or ability. He went by the power and the Word of God. It was not Moses who won the battle; it was God who fought for Israel. In the same way, today's victory does not come from your ability or cleverness. It comes by the power of the Spirit.

DECLARATION: "Not by your ability, not by your cleverness, not by your strength — but by the power of the Spirit, God gives you victory today, in the authority Christ Jesus gave on Calvary."

  1. David and Goliath – Facing the Giant With Faith

There was a time when the Philistines terrorised the camp of Israel. For 40 days and 40 nights, Goliath challenged the armies of God — threatening, mocking, and spreading fear. The entire army of Israel was paralysed. But David came — and he faced the giant not with sword and shield, but with faith in the living God. We too must face every challenge and every fear that the devil brings with faith — faith in the Word, faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

  1. Belshazzar and the Writing on the Wall

The Babylonian king Belshazzar defiled the vessels of God's temple and challenged God's people. But when the writing appeared — "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin" — those who mocked and challenged were silenced. The gift of tongues is not in vain. When you open your mouth in the Holy Spirit, His Spirit Himself binds strong men in the spirit realm. Your foreign language (gift of tongues) is a weapon of warfare.

  1. Dagon and the Ark of God (1 Samuel 5)

In 1 Samuel 5, there was a demonic stronghold called Dagon that constantly troubled the children of Israel. But when the Ark of God was brought in, Dagon fell face down before the Ark. Even hereditary bondages — curses and strongholds passed down through generations — can be surrendered at the feet of God's presence. Where God's presence is revealed, every demonic power must bow.

  1. BREAKING FREE THROUGH WORSHIP AND THE WORD

The means of binding the strong man are clear: the Word of God, worship in the Holy Spirit, and the authority of the name of Jesus. Moses did not defeat Pharaoh by human power — he prevailed by the Word of God. If this Word is being sent to you today, the freedom you have not yet experienced is about to become yours. The freedom you have not experienced yet, you are about to experience after this.

We must not just hear the Word — the Word must enter within us. Praise and worship in the Holy Spirit activates the Spirit's binding power in the heavenly realm. Worship in tongues, in particular, operates as a spiritual weapon. Just as the writing on the wall silenced Belshazzar's defiance, your utterance in the Holy Spirit silences the enemy.

DECLARATION: "By challenging you and withholding your good things, whichever strong man has kept you back — God is binding him today by the power of His Word. You are being released. Be free in the name of Jesus!"

  1. THE FINANCIAL STRONG MAN: DEBT AND POVERTY

As this financial year draws to a close, the Holy Spirit has given a specific assignment for this season: to bind the strong man called debt and poverty. Every financial expansion that has held you back, every bondage of debt, every limitation on growth — the Spirit of God is moving in this hour to set you free.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: "God is binding that strong man of debt and poverty from your life and family this very month! Do not enter the new financial year in that yoke. Be free in God's presence today!"

  1. The True Nature of Debt

Romans 13:8 is a financial command as much as a spiritual one: "Owe no one anything except to love one another." This verse, in its original context, speaks directly about financial obligation — a situation where no one should owe anyone money. Debt is like a man swimming with rocks in his trunk — he can barely move, constantly struggling, turning from this side to that, borrowing from one bank to pay another, and somehow keeping afloat. But it is exhausting.

Debt is also like a powerful speedboat with a small hole in the hull. On the outside, it looks impressive — dark glass, comfortable, fast, decorated. But if the boat ever stops, the water rushes in and the boat sinks. That is the reality of a debt-driven lifestyle — impressive on the outside, but dangerously fragile. When it stops, it goes under.

The greatest affliction of debt is that it takes hold over your mental real estate. Before debt ever taxes your purse, it taxes your mind. It is on your mind constantly — a nagging dread that never leaves. Debt is a decorated prison. The car with the EMIs, the house with the EMIs, the business

running on borrowed money — when people look from outside, it looks like success. But it is a prison.

  1. Debt as an Illusion of Progress

Debt is an illusion of progress. You feel like you are moving forward — but everything has been taken from your future and spent in the present. God's plan is growth that is authentic and sustainable, not an illusion built on borrowed money.

Do not spend money you do not have. Do not use faith you do not have. God's blessing works stage by stage — sometimes 30%, then 60%, then 100%, and then overwhelming abundance. Trust the process through which God will bring you to fruitfulness. The blessing is real, but it must come by His method, not by borrowing your way into a false appearance of prosperity.

  1. The Law of Compounding

Compounding — often called the eighth wonder of the world — works only when it is not disturbed or interrupted. Debt is the great disruptor. When you are in debt, the compounding of your blessings, savings, and spiritual growth is constantly hindered. The good news is that when debt is removed, compounding begins to work powerfully in your favour — small, consistent improvements accumulate into extraordinary results.

A man was shared in the congregation as a testimony — a missionary who, in his 40th year of faithful service to God, had not a single rupee of debt. Compounding was working for him in every dimension of life — spiritually, financially, and in family blessing.

  1. TWO FINANCIAL SYSTEMS: BABYLON vs. MELCHIZEDEK

The Bible speaks of two types of financial systems operating in the world — and every person is operating within one of the two.

  1. The Babylonian Financial System (Revelation 18:3–4)

The Babylonian system is the world's financial system — driven by human cleverness, connections, skill, pride, and worldly methods. Revelation 18:3–4 warns that the merchants of the earth have grown rich through this system. But it will fall. Babylon will be destroyed. The voice from heaven says: "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues."

This Babylonian financial system began with the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11 — humanity's attempt to build greatness in its own strength and pride. Those who remain within it may grow — but their foundation is corrupt, and one day it will collapse. Human ability, cleverness, connections, and skill will rise — but the Bible is very clear: those within this system will ultimately fall.

  1. The Melchizedek (Divine) Financial System (Genesis 14:18–23)

In contrast, the divine financial system is the Melchizedek system — the system of God. When God called Abraham out of Ur of the Chaldees (the Babel system), He said: "Come out, and I will make you a great nation. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you." God Himself became Abraham's Source.

In Genesis 14, after Abraham's great military victory, he encountered Melchizedek — priest of God Most High — who brought bread and wine and blessed Abraham. Abraham, in response, gave a tithe of all he had received. This tithe — giving the first tenth to God — is the key mark of the Melchizedek system. Abraham then turned to the king of Sodom and refused even a thread or a sandal strap from the spoils, declaring: "I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, 'I have made Abram rich.'"

Abraham's declaration is powerful: "It is God who makes me rich — not a human system, not a worldly king." This is the heart of the divine financial system. My God increases me. My God blesses me. The first tenth belongs to Him.

  1. WALKING IN THE DIVINE FINANCIAL SYSTEM
  2. Tithing as a Declaration of Allegiance

Tithing is not just a financial transaction — it is a declaration that you are in the Melchizedek system, not the Babylonian one. When you give the first tenth to God, you are saying: "I am not dependent on the world's system. My God is my Provider. What I have comes from Him, and the firstfruits belong to Him." That is why, if you live this way, someone in your house may oppose you at first. They may ask: "How can you give everything to the church?" That reaction comes from those still within the Babylonian system — they cannot understand the logic of divine provision.

After 32 years of pastoral ministry, Pastor Rajesh testified: no one who has faithfully given to God has ever gone into debt because of giving. God's promise to the faithful giver is not poverty but multiplication.

  1. The Testimony of Isaac: Sowing in Dark Times

Even in times of famine, Isaac sowed his seed and trusted God. Genesis 26 records that in the same year, God gave him a hundredfold return. He did not stop — he continued to grow and became very prosperous. When you are in the system of God, you will continue to grow until you are very prosperous. The principle is clear: what you sow into God's kingdom returns multiplied. Isaac's prosperity was not an accident — it was God's designed response to faithful stewardship.

  1. God's Blessing is Holistic

Abraham was blessed not just economically. At 100 years, Isaac was born. At 106 years, after Sarah's death, Abraham married Keturah and had six more children. His vitality, his lifespan, his health, and his family — all were under God's blessing. Similarly, a woman from the UK came to the ministry two years ago — 55 years old, medically told she could not have children, seeking prayer with her husband. Just two weeks before this message, she gave birth to a healthy child. God's blessing encompasses your finances, your health, your strength, and your lifespan. Do not forget there is a God who increases all these.

  1. You Are in a Different System

God has placed His people inside a different system — a divine system. When you hear the sound of wars, when financial crises come, when the world is filled with darkness — remember: God's light and God's glory will descend upon His children. In the midst of it, God will raise you, increase you, and uplift you. You will not go through hardship alone. God will bring you through — into His superabundance.

DECLARATION: "I am not within the Babylonian system. I am within the Melchizedek system. My God increases me! The first tenth belongs to the Lord. I declare: no famine, no war, no darkness of the world can stop God's blessing in my life!"

  1. CLOSING PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

"God is binding the strong man of debt, poverty, and financial limitation from your life and family in this month of March — the close of this financial year!"

"You will never lose a battle, you will never be defeated in a war — if Jesus Christ is your Lord! No matter what strong man you face, we have a God who keeps you standing with victory."

"Unnecessary burdens and unjust oppression are departing from your life today. Divine wisdom is released to you — to walk in the blessing God has prepared, and to find paths of grace and provision."

"You are coming out of every poverty and death — into the abundance God has designed for you. This March, this area, this season — shall be touched and transformed by the power of God!"

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Victory is not by your strength or cleverness, but by the power of God's Spirit and the authority of Jesus Christ, won at Calvary.
  • Every stronghold — disease, addiction, fear, family bondage — is subject to the name of Jesus and the Word of God. Worship in the Holy Spirit and praying in tongues are spiritual weapons that bind the strong man.
  • Debt is a spiritual stronghold — a decorated prison, an illusion of progress. Romans 13:8 calls God's people to live free from financial obligation, trusting God's process of stage-by-stage increase.
  • There are two financial systems: the Babylonian (world's) system, which will fall, and the Melchizedek (divine) system, in which God is your Source. Tithing — giving the first tenth to God — is the mark and the key of the divine system.
  • God's blessing is holistic — encompassing finances, health, strength, vitality, and family. No matter what the world faces, those within God's system will continue to grow, be increased, and walk in superabundance.
