Sunday sermon by Pastor Rajesh Mathew, 24 AUG, 2025 

Leviticus 26:9-10 (MSG vers)- 9 I'll give you my full attention: I'll make sure you prosper, make sure you grow in numbers, and keep my covenant with you in good working order. 10 You'll still be eating from last year's harvest when you have to clean out the barns to make room for the new crops. 

• The Lord is saying- I’ll give you my full attention, I will make sure you prosper, I’ll make sure you grow in numbers. 
• Just take this Word- If God is saying I will make you prosper and if He says He is giving you full attention, the just receive it. You don’t need any other assurance beyond this.

John 2:1-11- 2 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” 4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” 6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. 7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. 9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” 11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and [a]manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him. 

The Holy Spirit told me these words when I was praying: 

It's time for you to taste strong wine. Time for you to drink strong wine- The Holy Ghost wine. New and strong wine of the Holy Spirit.

• If you are sitting here with hunger for HIM, He will fill your vessels. 
• The Book of John reveals 8 miracles of Jesus. Six of them are written only by John and the miracle of 2nd chapter of John is written only by John and you won’t find this in any other Book.
• The meaning of Cana in Hebrew is a place of Reed. It was marshy land. Not a suitable land for growing grapes or making wine. Therefore, it implies that where everything seems impossible, there God will act. God will do some things for you in the midst of your impossibilities, a situation where there is no chance of growing grapes, the land is impossibly marshy, but God will make wine there. May His Hand move in areas of your lives that look impossible. 

We have read, heard and meditated these scriptures many times. Today, the Holy Spirit is revealing about 8 kinds/groups of people. 

There are two kinds of wine- Old wine and New wine. 

1. The first group of people- Those who have drank old wine and left the wedding to go to another wedding.

• It was a wedding season. They drank old wine and said bye. They thought the party was over but they forgot that Jesus was there. You may have had an old or past experience with Christ but do not be satisfied with that and leave. He has something more for you even today. He is unchanging.
• We don’t know why they left. Were they disappointed with the food, tired, irritated, offended? But they needed only one reason to stay- the God who called them was there at that wedding. 
• Many of us can keep boasting about the past. My grandfather, my great grandfather, my marriage in the past was great, my businesses in the past were successful etc. You will have a lot of things to say about the past. But the good things of the past have left you for many reasons- May be because of jealousy, may be because of other reasons.

If you are among those who have had glorious experiences in the past and today you have nothing, in these days a fresh visitation from the Lord is awaiting you!

You are saying, it used to be good, but now its over. What's ahead of you is greater! 

2. Second group- They drank old wine but they did not leave.

• The wine got over. But they had the old wine, they had Holy Spirit. They had started speaking in tongues, were joyful but now there was no wine experience. You have become Luke warm.
• Don’t think that your wine is over and feel defeated. There is new wine for you. God is greater than your luke warmness. The best is still ahead! 
• There are people who are looking at dead marriages, dead businesses. Don’t cry over spilt milk.

Actually, there are people praying over spilt milk. One word, one touch and one encounter is enough for you to receive a fresh touch of the Lord in His Presence 

3. Third group- They have not drunk old wine but they drank new wine. • This group came late for the wedding. They haven't drunk the old wine but they only drank new wine. 

• There have been many moves of the Holy Spirit in Kerala before. I have not been associated with any of them and have only heard of them. But Joshua generation is the new wine, it is a new move of the Holy Spirit.
• I honour that but what God is doing here is a supernatural, unique move of the Lord. I praise God for those who understood that.
• I still remember an uncle who came to drop his wife drunk for a Sunday service, came and rammed into a coconut tree. We made him sit down on a chair and even there God touched him and set him free!
• Even in the street before my house I have cast out demons. People falling by the power of the Holy Spirit.
• Many did not know what was happening but today here is something new that God has kept for you- New ministries, new life and new creation in Christ. The Holy Spirit power is able to transform you. That is the testimony of many who have met me.
• God’s Holy Spirit is saying that some of those who stepped out with Me have not even stepped onto the stage to minister. But the Holy Spirit is declaring that new ministries, new shifting, new anointings, and new wine are going to be released. 

New businesses, new financial doors will open over your life. It’s time to drink strong wine! 

• There is an intoxication in the love of Jesus and Holy Spirit. You can be intoxicated in his love.
• There are Wine drinkers and Wine drainers. There are Fire makers and Fire extinguishers. Do not allow anything to distinguish your fire, zeal, flame for the Lord. Keep the fire burning! Be wine drinker and not a drainer.
• The Book of Ephesians 1 says you were sealed with the Holy Spirit the day I believed in Jesus, I was sealed. Ephesians 5 says be ye continually filled with the Holy Spirit. • In first chapter you got the seal and in the 5th chapter, you have to make sure that you are continuously filled with the Holy Spirit. It is not a one-time experience but continuous filling of the Holy Spirit. Be filled with the Spirit of God. Keep getting filled continuously! 

Is there criticism, persecution because of your faith? Don’t leave God because of this. Don’t leave the Holy Spirit because of this.

4. Fourth group- They have drunk the old and the new wine

• There may be people who have tasted the old but there is a new wine for the church of God for the God’s people in india. Both old and new wine. 
• There are the old believers- they have grey hair, they have seen life, they have battled and won, there is a Spirit of wisdom and holiness and life in them. They There are the young ones, with coloured hair, new thinking but both old and new are needed for the church. Clap your hands

There is going to be a glory move in the church 

• Ruth and Naomi were going back to Bethlehem and the cities was shaken. It was not just Naomi but a young Ruth were returning together, Two of them together. Old generation and new generation together to lift up the Name of Jesus.
• Old wisdom and the new zeal giving their hearts to Jesus. 
• The old gen is still relevant to the church and the new may not know the doctrine and preaching but they have such deep love and zeal for Jesus. 
• Amongst the disciples of Jesus, Peter was one of the oldest and he was only 21 or 22 years old. John was only 16 years old. Jesus was also only 30 and HIS disciples were 

junior to him. They were all young! That’s why John leaned on Jesus’ Bosom. They were zealous for Jesus. They want to run for Jesus, jump up for Jesus! 

• The new may be a bit more bitter but as the wine becomes older it will become more refined, Nobel, stately. Accept the young ones. They may be wearing a tattoo, don’t judge them. don’t thrust your old experiences on Him. Let him or her have their own experiences with Jesus.
• Honour the elders. They carry the wisdom, holiness, their faith has been tested. Honour them! 

The revival is in this-When the old and the new come together for the Glory of God. 

5. Mary the mother of Jesus

• We love and honour her. She was a silent helper. There are silent helpers, strategic helpers, unknown helpers, known helpers. They help you walk with Jesus. • Mary was worried that there should not be an embarrassment in this family. Nobody should know their lack. I'll tell Jesus about it, she thought. If I tell Jesus about this family’s lack, Jesus will help and bring a solution. There is a need for a generation like that. 
• Every one of us need helping hands. These days in your financial life, your job, your business life, in your career God will send helpers 
• God will send them to you in this season. I receive my HELP FROM GOD! Declare it. • I have been helped many a time, many are unknown but I have been helped.

I release that favour upon you, may your receive help from all quarters. 6. The Servants

• The Bible talks about Abraham's Servants, Elijah’s Servants and the Servants of Saul. The servant of Elijah was told by him to go see if there are rain clouds gathering. He went 7 times and found nothing. The 7th time, there was a small hand-sized cloud, says the servant. He may have said that only to encourage a praying Elijah. We need people like that, had he said there was still no cloud, Elijah may have left his ministry 

discouraged. We need silent encouragers like that.

• Are you seeing possibility where there seems no chance? Be encouraged. When everything feels like it’s over, be encouraged. Servants should not be a barrier to your worship. 
• Abraham asked the servants to wait down while you worship. If there are guests at home, give them food, turn the TV on for them and come to the House of the Lord for worship. 

Don’t allow anybody to reduce your life. You always smell like the company you keep. 

• When you apply for visa sometimes you have to show your social media pages. They look at what you have like and commented on and they see if your philosophy aligns with the philosophy of that country and only then will your visa be stamped. Whether 

it is in Instagram or Facebook, don’t go around following everybody. Not for the sake of your visa but to keep the glory of God in your heart, don’t follow everyone, follow JESUS! 

• I like the people who drink wine. It is nice to hang out with them. Please do not take this literally and go and drink wine tonight. 
• Wine signifies His love, His spirit and His move. 

Taste the Wine (of the Holy Spirit) and if it is good, recommend it. If you have tasted that the Lord is good, share it with the world. Post it, Speak about it.

8. The couple- Mr and Mrs.

• They will sit rested. They won’t be screaming asking where the wine was. Husband and wife on stage. They were not screaming and worrying
• There were 6 stone jars together holding about 528 litres of wine. It was not a small party. 

When God gives there is quality and quantity. 

• Get ready sit with Jesus with a rested inner being, no matter what situation you are in. Just imagine if the bridegroom went out to draw to water to fill the Stone water jars? He sat peacefully on the stage. 

The richest people on earth are not the most hard-working people. They sit in rest. 

• Some people gulp down the wine in one go and some just sip it. You need to at least sip wine. There are some people who come into such a spiritually charged atmosphere and do not even take a sip!! 

Strong wine is coming to you. 

• The wine brought the

▪ Disciples of God 

▪ Presence of God, and

▪ miracle working power of God into that family. 

• When the old and new wine come together, God will pay full attention to you and prosper you! 
• God will honour you, your children and your family.
